Flange mounted – drive shaft of the
pump is directly connected to the motor via
a flexible couping. The drive shaft is sealed
against atmospheric pressure through the use
of oiled shaft seals
Canned – the rotor and stator pack
are separated by a vacuum tight can which eliminates
the need for a traditional oiled shaft seal.
